Privacy policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
Slap Alert is made by Nikolas McEwen (Apex North). This policy covers the Slap Alert app for Mac (from the Mac App Store or from this website) and this website.
The app collects nothing
Slap Alert has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no server of ours. We never receive your sales, your customers' details or your keys.
Your API keys
To show your sales, you give Slap Alert a read-only key for your own Stripe or RevenueCat account. The key is stored in your Mac's keychain and is only ever sent to Stripe (api.stripe.com) or RevenueCat (api.revenuecat.com), over HTTPS, to ask for your recent payments or today's revenue. You can remove it at any time: menu bar monkey → Connect Sales… → Disconnect.
What stays on your Mac
Slap Alert reads the customer name or email, the amount and the product of each new payment to put them on the note. It keeps, on your Mac only, inside its own folders: its settings, the ID of each payment it has already shown (so it never shows one twice), and a small log of recent notes, which includes those names and amounts. The log is kept under about 2 MB and older entries are deleted. None of it is sent anywhere.
Buying on slapalert.com
If you buy a license on this website, Stripe processes the payment under its own privacy policy; we never see your card. Stripe tells us your email address and name, which we use to make your license key and, if you ask for help, to find your purchase. Your email address is written inside the license key so you can see who it belongs to, and we email the key to you. We don't send marketing email and we don't sell or share your details.
This website
slapalert.com uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived request logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the site.
Stripe and RevenueCat
Stripe and RevenueCat handle data under their own privacy policies. Slap Alert only reads what your key allows.
Children
Slap Alert isn't directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes we'll update this page and its date.
